①How to start use

In Japan, electricity is provided by a private company
Therefore, to start using electricity at your new residence, you are required to make a contract with the electricity company in your area. (Tokyo Electricity Company for Tokyo metropolitan area).

You can make an application to contract by internet or telephone. Of course, Global Trust Networks will begin the procedure for you to start use.

②Precautions of use

• Circuit Breaker Information

  If your electricity use exceeds the capacity on your contract, the circuit breaker will switch off and the electricity circuit will be shut down. Turn off the electrical equipment in use and raise the circuit breaker back on.

• Multiple Circuits Information

  Connecting an extension cable or table top connection into one power socket will cause overheating and electricity usage above capacity, and could lead to accidents such as a fire. Also, places that easily accumulate dust or are humid can cause overheating and lead to a fire, please use electricity with caution in these areas.

⑤Prohibitions Information

• Please take care when using electricity near water, as leakage or electrocution can occur.

• Please take care when using electricity with multiple circuits at a place that easily accumulates dust, as it may cause overheating and lead to a fire.

⑥Payment Methods

• Bank Account Transfer

  Customers of financial institutions can pay the electricity bill automatically from their bank account. If you pay your electricity bill directly from your bank account, you will receive a discount of around 52 Yen each month. You can apply at the electricity company office in your area or by internet, then you will be sent an electricity bank account transfer application form from the electricity company. Please fill out the required information and inkan stamp then post to apply. It may take 1-2 months to change to the bank account transfer payment method.

• Credit Card

  You can apply at the electricity company office in your area or by internet, then you will be sent an electricity credit card application form from the electricity company. Please fill out the required information and inkan stamp then post to apply. It may take 1-2 months to change to the bank account transfer payment method.

• Direct Bank Deposit

  Payment forms will be mailed from the electricity company. Payment can be made to the electricity company at a bank or post office. Or you can receive the electricity payment paper from the staff when they read the meter every month. For more details, please enquire with the electricity company in your area.

⑦Suspension of Use

Payment is due within 30 days of the meter reading.If payment is made after the due date, the daily interest rate of approximately 0.03% is charged. If payment is not made within 20 days after the due date, a warning will be given and the electricity supply will be stopped.

⑧Relocation Procedure

When the relocation date is decided, you should contact the electricity company to notify of the contract cancellation date.Staff from the company will arrive on the contract cancellation date to settle the bill to that day.
